Hot Spring


The natural hot springs flowing directly from the property’s own sources will surely satisfy you. Rare among Atami hot springs, we own two private sources to provide you with the ultimate hot spring experience. Baths include a large public bath, open-air baths, and private baths. The large public bath and open-air baths are complimentary for unlimited use during your stay. Private baths are available for a fee.
Historical records show that Tokugawa Ieyasu stayed in Atami for 7 days in 1604. It is said that he had Atami’s hot spring water transported about 112 km to Edo Castle. Furthermore, during his visit to the ailing Lord Hiroie Kikkawa, the water was transported all the way to Yamaguchi Prefecture. This demonstrates how deeply Ieyasu loved Atami’s hot springs.

Cuisine


Our kaiseki cuisine is highly acclaimed by guests who wish to savor authentic Japanese dining. Blessed with an abundance of ingredients, Atami offers fresh seafood from nearby Suruga and Sagami Bays, as well as carefully selected vegetables and beef from the foothills of Mt. Fuji. Each dish is delicately prepared by our head chef using traditional techniques and a refined sense of artistry, expressing the beauty of Japan’s four seasons. We also offer specialties such as spiny lobster sashimi, live abalone barbecue, and shabu-shabu. Local sake and wines carefully chosen to pair with Japanese cuisine are also available.


Local Specialty: Simmered Kinmedai in Soy Sauce

A local specialty of the Izu area, this simmered kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) is carefully prepared in a traditional Atami-style soy-based broth, boasting a mellow and refined flavor. Please enjoy this unique dish. Meals are served in our Shiho-mi Chaya dining hall.

Kinomiya Shrine

Within the grounds stands a giant camphor tree over 2,000 years old, designated a national natural monument. It is said that walking around it once will add one year to your life.

Kiunkaku

On its vast 10,000m² grounds lies a lush Japanese garden, as well as Japanese and Western-style residences overflowing with romance from the early 20th century.

MOA Museum of Art

Housing over 3,500 masterpieces including Japanese art, ceramics, and ancient Asian art from Japan and China, as well as paintings, literature, and sculptures.

Geigi Kenban

Visitors can enjoy performances of traditional Atami geisha dances.

Hatsushima

A remote island accessible by sightseeing boat where you can enjoy adventure while learning about history and tradition.
